Where can I download a copy of the notice of Intended to marry papers (NOIM)?
You can download a copy of the notice of Intended to marry here.
Can we sign the NOIM papers less than one month prior to our ceremony date?
No. The NOIM papers must be filled in and handed to your celebrant before one month and one day prior to your wedding date.
Are witnesses required to sign our marriage certificate?
Yes, the bride and Groom must have a witness each (over the age of 18years old- can be related and from overseas; must be present the entire time of your ceremony). Traditionally witnesses are your maid of honour/ best man, but these days it can be anyone you like.
Is the decorative (party) Marriage Certificate proof of my marriage?
This certificate is for your own records. This certificate may not be proof of your marriage for official purpose i.e. changing your surname on your passport, drivers licence etc. You will need to apply for your standard marriage certificate; your celebrant is not required to provide this certificate.
What is the usual duration of a wedding ceremony?
Duration of your ceremony can vary between 10min-30mins; on average about 24 minutes- usually never going over 30mins. It depends on what content and extra ceremonies you would like to include.
What happens if my chosen celebrant is ill or in an accident on our wedding day?
Touch wood that this never happens, but if it were- don’t stress! There are four more fabulous celebrants in our group that we
can call on. Your ceremony will be the one that you have confirmed with your previous celebrant, but just officiated by another
celebrant. The time of you ceremony may be delayed etc, but you will get married on your wedding date:)
